2014 – Project 52 – Week Seven
This was a bit of a slow week for me – photography wise that is. It seems like everything is banking up really quickly now and I don’t know where the time goes. However, due to Career Day at the University of Guyana, I was able to at least get a picture for the week.
Every year, the university would coordinate this huge activity to facilitate the sharing of knowledge about careers to the masses. It is an exhibition that takes over the entire Turkeyen Campus as the different departments showcase what they have to offer. In addition, external agencies also grace the occasion to exhibit their products and services.
Last year I got some amazing images but wasn’t too sure what I wanted to take this year. Due to unforseen circumstances, I wasn’t able to spend the day walking around, as is the custom, after assisting my department to set up.
So, this quick snap was chosen as my Week Seven picture. It is a picture of the Guyana Defence Force’s helicopter before it made history by being the first airborne transport to land on the campus. It caused quite a stir and if there was a prize for drawing almost EVERYONE on the campus to ONE area, then this would have won, hands down.
Some of my other favourites from the half hour I was able to take pictures are:
